After a long fundraising initiative by the Grand Hall Grand Piano team, made up of Fish Creek Memorial Hall and Prom Recitals committee members, we’re very pleased that we’ve reached our target – the C6 Yamaha grand piano has made the move to its new home on the stage of the Fish Creek Memorial Hall.
Thank you very very very much to everyone involved in the fundraising – donors, volunteers, performers, partners, concert-goers, Fishy Hall, Prom Recitals – everyone really.
To celebrate, two concerts were held recently – A Grand Piano Recital featuring Timothy Young and A Grand Opera Matinee featuring Opera Australia stars Iain Henderson and Genevieve Dickson with Phillipa Safey on the grand piano. Both concerts were very well attended and showcased not only the virtuosity of the performers, but the piano itself.
Fundraising continues …
Become a key player! In order to ensure the best possible maintenance of our new community asset for its lifetime, the fundraising continues.
You can be part of the fundraising effort by purchasing one of 88 keys (as an individual or as a family or a community group) at a cost of $500 each. Your key will be engraved, framed and showcased as part of an artwork in the Hall. And of course, donations of any amount are always welcome.
NB: No donations made would involve any ownership or part-ownership of the Grand Piano.
